Alpha Industries AW'17
Alpha Industries is currently an iconic brand offering clothing in the military style. Its origins date back to 1957 in a city of Knoxville, Texas, where Samuel Gelber and Robert Lane decided to set up a company - Dobbs Industries.
The launch of the business was connected with production for the US Department of Defense, and their first products were the MA-1 flight jackets, N-2B parkas and infantry coats. The quality of materials and sewing technology was quickly appreciated and a year later the company signed a permanent contract for the production of military clothing for the US Army.
Despite the great success, crisis appeared in 1959. Lae, one of the founders of the company, entered into a conflict with the federal government, which resulted in the company's suspension of work for the army. This fact led Samuel Gelber to take decisive steps and leave the company, setting up his own business - Alpha Industries Inc. The factory was also established in Knoxville, and a month after its foundation, the first contract for the production of jackets was signed.
Over the years, the company has continued to grow and expand production. Since 1960 Alpha Industries has grown into one of the largest factories manufacturing for the armed forces. Its reputation has been built on MA-1 and L-2B flight jackets and the N-3B parka. The demobil had a major impact on the penetration of the "civil" world. Pilots that were finishing their service were able to keep the coats for daily use, which popularized them among ordinary citizens. In addition, unlike the competition, Alpha produced exactly identical jackets for the army as well as the mass market. They were made of the same materials, keeping up with all the standards required by the military.
From the military ranks they have hit the streets of LA, and from there they get to the cover of fashion magazines. This is the story of the company, which thanks to caring for the quality of products, has taken over the market and conquered the hearts of the whole world.
