Pigalle x Converse Chuck '70s
The opening of a new place in Beijing has inspired Converse and the Paris-based fashion brand Pigalle Paris to create a joint project. The brands worked together on a shoe design to celebrate a new basketball court. The choice of location is not random - it imitates the legendary Parisian basketball court, located at the back of the popular Pigalle boutique. It's an important place for the streetwear culture, not just a typical court. It is also a popular meeting place and, above all, an enclave for the local community.
Converse x Pigalle collection
The concept has become an inspiration for the recent joint collection Converse x Pigalle, which is made of recycled material from 45,000 pairs of tennis shoes. It is a perfect "uniform" for a basketball fan - it will be ideal for both a basketball court and for casual wear.
The Converse x Pigalle collection includes, among others, two colours of the Chuck 70s model. The first one has a lightning on the upper part while the second one is more minimalistic. The natural canvas refers to the origins of the first version of Converse Chuck Taylor OG.
