Puma RS-0 'Re-invention'

Added
2018-07-08
Puma RS-0 release is easily one of the hottest 2018 premieres so far.

The sneakers are brand new, but at the same time - a tribute to the mid-1980s technology solution. The tech tweak in question is R-System, standing for "Running System". R-System was designed in 1986; back then is appeared as an exciting innovation, taking cushioning tech to a whole new level. There were side effects, too, so to speak - whole RS family of sneakers was subsequently released: Puma RS-100 and Puma RS-Computer from 1986 and Puma RS-350 from 1987.

Newly released Puma RS-0 are a follow-up to one of family members - RS-Computer; therefore, a few words about '86 sneakers seems to be in place. Their silhouette, taken as if from the depths of from the outer space, would make everyone go loco today - imagine the reaction back in the 80s! And it's not even about the "Running System" tech, you can forget about it, and it's still madness, but caused by the fact that the blocks placed on the shoe heel could be plugged to a computer! After jacking the shoes in, Apple IIE, Commodore 64/128 or IBM PC displayed running analytics: distance and time of the run or calories burned.

Back to the point, i.e. Puma RS-0... they could be described as lifestyle-driven refreshment of the archival Puma RS-Computer. The sneakers' name itself has an additional meaning under. The "0", as the designers themselves disclosed, indicates a reboot (PC-like) and getting back to square one. In this case, it's about breaking RS-Computer down to its core, and then putting it back together, creating RS-0, which is the same, but something new at the same time, due to state-of-the-art solutions usage.

RS-0 is thus a part of "Re-Invention Pack" mini-collection. In total, it contains 3 designs: Puma RS-0, Puma RS-100 and Puma RS-350. Apart from R-System technology, a common denominator of these is the colorway, combining white, black, beige and fresh green. The latter is the most important - "Archive Green". , as it was inspired by the so-called "green screen"- monochrome CRT monitor from the 80s, displaying text in green only, which is as archival item - as archival are RS-Computer sneakers.
