Raised by Wolves x Saucony Aya 'Asphalt Jungle'
The American brand Saucony Originals clearly doesn’t slow down. The beginning of the year seems extremely promising thanks to a joint project with Raised By Wolves, a Canadian streetwear brand. Raised By Wolves is known for local production, high quality and the functionality, and above all for its combination of minimalism and bold designs inspired by Canadian nature.
This time the star of the project was a retro model from the late 90s, AYA. This choice also confirms over 20-year absence of the model in the market. Saucony and RBW could not have chosen better to boost this return and therefore to increase sales.
Saucony Aya x Raised by Wolves Asphalt Jungle
The joint project is called 'Asphalt Jungle', which is inspired by... a Canadian maple - used to make very durable skateboard decks. The materials the designers have chosen are a classic combination of suede, mesh and grain leather in tonal grey. This pair sits on a grey midsole and is highlighted only by the details in the colours: teal on the outer sole, yellow shoe lining and the red inside part of the tongue that hides... a secret “contraband” pocket. The 'Raised By Wolves' embroidery on the back, which replaces the name of the American brand, informs us about the joint project.
The premiere took place on the 18th of January on the RBW website, while the global release of Saucony Aya Asphalt Jungle on the 25th of January.
