- - Adidas Originals, which focused on popular designs from the past, adopted by millions of people as part of their lifestyle.
- - Adidas Essentials, bringing comfortable everyday fashion with a strong sportsy feel. The adidas Originals line features some iconic blasts from the past, including the adidas NMD shoes, the Superstar line, and even collaborative pieces featuring Star Wars.
Pre-war tradition and almost a hundred years of experience
The founder of adidas, Adolf “Adi” Dassler, operated a family shoe manufacturing business in 1930s Germany, finding an opportunity after World War I. The Dassler family name became famous as at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, the four-time gold medalist from the United States, Jesse Owens, wore the shoes he received from Adolf as a gift during the competition. The Second World War disrupted the family business, but Adi and his brother Rudolf persevered and decided to rebuild from scratch. Unfortunately, a dispute between the two brothers led them to separate and found their own companies - Adi founded adidas, and Rudolf founded Puma.
Chosen by athletes from all over the world - adidas NMD
Starting in the 1950s, more and more football teams started wearing adidas shoes as part of their official teamwear. Adidas NMD shoes were surprisingly light and featured revolutionary cleats, bringing athlete shoe performance to new levels. In the late nineties, adidas branched out from athlete wear to retail, which quickly turned out to be a huge success.
While the brand started by manufacturing sports shoes, it was at this point producing apparel of all types, from women’s trousers to Adidas became one of the most recognizable sportswear and casual apparel manufacturers all around the world, providing comfortable and affordable options, as well as premium, high-fashion choices.
