The beginning of the history of Onitsuka Tiger Corsair dates back to 1969, although in fact the model debuted in 1968 under the name T-24. The shoes are designed for recreational running in the Land of the Blooming Cherries, and to their creation had put theirs hands a duo: Phil Knight - passionate about running and Bill Bowerman - trainer and promoter of jogging - later founders of Nike. The support, which Bowerman gave designers of the brand was to adapt the model to American conditions. It was first of all about a different physique build of Americans, or used in the country surfaces. Considering these aspects, the designers decided to use in sole a foam with dual density, which was designed to protect the runners even better than the previous. The interior is lined with textile material, while the heel counter is lined with synthetic leather. The sole, upon which the whole is based, was made in the middle part by the mentioned a moment ago EVA dual density foam, while the outer layer is formed by adhesive rubber.
